About Mai

Mai led a successful 18-year career in the estate planning and life insurance industry. It was during this time that her passion for real estate was inspired by her beloved estate planning client, Dorothy. Dorothy was an unassuming, frugal, and wise investor who had built a sizable estate through real estate.

Mai's late boss, mentor, and eventual investment partner, Andrew D. Westhem, encouraged Mai to emulate Dorothy's success. Always eager to expand her knowledge, in 2002, Mai found her first investment property in Oceanside, CA. She fixed it up, rented it out for 2 years, and then sold it, realizing her first profit!

Over the years, Mai accumulated a portfolio of real estate assets, which included properties in California, Arizona, Hawaii, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah. She and her husband Jesse, a general contractor, have purchased, renovated, and sold nearly two dozen real estate assets.  

Throughout her career, Mai has always applied a straightforward and honest approach to doing business, which has earned her high marks and trust from satisfied clients. She is patient and understanding of clients' needs and makes a 110% effort in every transaction, understanding that one missed detail can mean a lost opportunity for the client. Mai takes great pride in being personally engaged in the process for every customer and truly enjoys cheering for her first-time homebuyers. 

Mai has resided in San Diego since 1975. She takes pride in her humble beginnings and large family with a strong work ethic. She enjoys traveling, food abroad, sun & beach, and being a vacation rental hostess to tenants from all over the world! Mai is looking forward to applying her passion for real estate towards your goals!
